They teach you the basics of the rumba dance in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Private lessons are more specialized — and also more expensive. Their individualized focus and feedback are especially advantageous for advanced learners who are trying to fine-tune their skills or practice with a skilled partner. If you’re really ambitious about taking your rumba skills to a higher level and don’t mind the cost, then private lessons can help you master the dance.

If you don’t have the time or resources to enlist in lessons of any kind, there are ways you can learn the dance on your own. The important thing to keep in mind is that learning the rumba on your own requires plenty of self-discipline, and you will have to set aside time to practice. You will also need to have the right kind of music with which to practice. You can easily find CDs with professional dancing music that will have the correct tempo for dancing rumba. Rumba music has a characteristic rhythm — three steps for every four-beat measure. This is why the rhythm can be confusing for those who are starting out, and you need to understand how the beat works before you can become good at dancing rumba. It helps to listen to the music in between practicing. Once you internalize the rhythm, you will respond to it more instinctively when you actually dance.

Or where can some one find dvds to teach them how to do these things?

Carmen Electra has a few dvds for striptease and lapdance, you can probably get them from amazon or ebay, or whatever your local trade site is. I'm not sure about pole dances though sorry.

Check this site out – many instructional DVD's that may help you. I suggest, however, if you truly want to learn to dance flamenco you take some lessons from a professional and use the DVD's to help you on the side.
