Amira’s 101 gets good reviews as a beginners DVD.

If you want a more contemporary style (tribal fusion) try Rachel Brice’s Serpentine.

The Rachel Brice one is more expensive but is 2 DVDs and has basics, strengthening routines, good technique – and goes onto quite advanced moves like backbends.

I know breakdancing is different from hip hop, but there are some similarities and it could spice up your hip hop a little.

Depends what sort of dance you are after.

Try typing Jive or Lindy Hop in Amazon – they have some great beginners DVDs there.

Failing that, go to a class – usually most towns have at least one.
