I want to dance and workout but not to the usual "hip hop, latin" dance workout dvds. I like the dance routines in music videos and musicals and would much rather dance to something like that. Any ideas???

As there are many different styles from different countries, I don’t know where to start. There are no classes in my area so I would like to do it from home.
Amira’s 101 gets good reviews as a beginners DVD.

If you want a more contemporary style (tribal fusion) try Rachel Brice’s Serpentine.

The Rachel Brice one is more expensive but is 2 DVDs and has basics, strengthening routines, good technique – and goes onto quite advanced moves like backbends.

I used to dance when I was younger and I want to learn some new choreography. Does anyone know any good hip hop dvds or should I just stick to youtube? Im not practicing for any competeion or anything, I just like to dance. I used to dance to keep in shape before I got pregnant now I want to get my body back.

How can I learn to dance like they do in the Indian movies? Are there any good instructional DVDs?

i am desperate for some sort of dance dvd where i can learn dance routines to pop songs. everything i have come across is very exercise based which i don’t want. i’d like to learn dance routines like you would at a dance class. i could try to choreograph dances myself but i don’t have that great an imagination! i have hunted amazon etc but everything is either exercise and fitness routines or things like zumba or the like. any info greatly appreciated thanks xx

the only issue i have is that the nearest classes available to me are like, an hours drive away so i have no way of getting to them with my work schedule as it is.
so i want to know if there are any good dvds for learning how to belly dance? i am a beginner, but i do have SOME dancing talent. i live in the US, so nothing that is too hard to find or wont play in a US dvd player please!!
I would recommend "Sadie’s Complete Bellydancing Guide" as a good start for beginners and her "Thrillin’ Drillin’" DVD. The reason I recommend her DVDs is because she focuses a great deal on technique, and is very good at breaking down each movement and then showing you how to combine them.
